Banner: GK Film Corporation
Production: Vikram Krishna
Direction: Prabhu Deva
Star-casts: Vishal, Sameera Reddy, Vivek and others
Music: Vijay Anthony
Vishal’s award-winning performance in ‘Avan Ivan’ has been keeping on headlines and the actor is now ready with his next film ‘Vedi’. Completely different in style, the film will be a commercial entertainer. The film, a remake of Telugu movie ‘souryam’ stars Vishal as a cop while Sameera Reddy stars opposite him in female lead character.
The album has 5 tracks that are penned by Vaali, Thamarai, Na. Muthukumar, Vivega and Kabilan each.
1. Enna Aachi
Singers: Vijay Yesudas, Janaki Iyer
Lyrics: Thamarai
The albums opens with a best number titled ‘Enna Aachi’, a beautiful track crooned so resplendently by Vijay Yesudas and Janaki Iyer. You’ll fall in love with the song for the first time your hear to it. Vijay Anthony has once again proved that he can score brownie points with melodies.
2. Ichu Ichu
Singers: Vijay Anthony, Sangeetha Rajeswaran
Lyrics: Vaali
It looks like Vijay Anthony has felt that Sangeetha Rajeswaran’s voice is most apt for the his folk-based songs. The duo had earlier geared up for a scintillating number in Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’. This song has a slow tempo and yet doesn’t fall short of Vijay Anthony’s touch over the beats and composition. Vaali has done the song in his own style.
3. Ippadi Mazhai
Singers: Karthik, Saidhavi
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
Set in style of techno beats, the song has Saindhavi rendering with her mellisonant and Karthik doesn’t strain much over his vocalisms. The lyrical lines by Na. Muthukumar is just mediocre and even the beats and special sound effects doesn’t cater to the listeners’ interests. Maybe, we will have to wait and see whether it gains popularity as the time advances.
4. Bombay Ponnu
Singers: Mamtha Sharma, MLR Karthikeyan, Senthil Das
Lyrics: Vivega
It sounds like Vijay Anthony is vividly influenced by Bollywood item numbers. The song has a mix of Bhangra and techno that will surely give an impressive feel when watched on the screens. Mamtha Sharma strikes with a spectacular show while MLR Karthikeyan and Senthil Das have their best works established here.
5. Kadhalikka
Singers: Emcee Jezz, Naresh Iyer, Andrea Jeremiah, Rap Vocals – Sharmila
Lyrics: Kabilan
With so many singers invovled in the song, the expectation goes up on greater levels. Of course, the song is spellbinding for the works of singers and the beautiful composition by Vijay Anthony. The music director has very well orchestrated with the voices and the instrumentals. Doubtlessly, the song will grab away everyone’s attention.
On the whole, ‘Vedi’ has some average songs that will go on well with certain adudineces.
