3 Aishwarya Dhanush’s first film as director is expected to hit theatres for Pongal.
The film has Dhanush and Shruti Hassan in the lead. 3 is an emotional love story that boasts to be different and catchy and also means something poetic. Aishwarya Dhanush said, ‘’ I was trying to get something different, at the same time catchy. Nothing too long. And 3 was just perfect for the story too,” she said.

Aishwarya Dhanush further said, “The character of Dhanush fits him perfectly. As Dhanush’s wife I know what all he can do, I understand him well. For this script it’s very important that the hero understands the emotional make up of his character. As Dhanush is aware of what I need, it’s easier for me,” she added.

They featured the lead pair Dhanush and Shruti Hassan sharing close moments with each other in different backgrounds.

Aishwarya adds: "3 was initially scripted by me as a short film. After understanding that it would commercially click as a full-length feature film, we (she and Dhanush) decided to make it as a movie. That's how it happened."
Claiming that her father Superstar Rajnikanth is fully aware of the story of '3', Aishwarya says, "In fact it was he who encouraged me to direct the film. I have started the shooting with the blessings of my parents and my in-laws."
