Rajini to learn sword fighting for Rana [TFC]

We had earlier told you about Rajini and team planning to head to the bustling city of London to capture some exquisite shots for Rana in the month of April. Fresh reports suggest that Rajini is wielding the sword in Rana and the hero will train under someone adept in the art of  swordsmanship in London to pull of those action sequences in style. The sword fighting scenes will be shown in a flashback mode in the movie.

Now the art of sword fighting isn’t new to Rajini as many still remember some prominent scenes from movies such as ‘Alavudeenum Arputha Vilakkum’ way back in 1979 and ‘Adutha Varisu’ back in 1983 where plays with his weapons in his numero-uno style.As we knowRajinikanth’s Rana will have Superstar playing a triple role and moreover he also has 3 heroines for the movie. OnlyDeepika Padukone has confirmed her participation while official confirmations from Rekha and Vidya Balan are yet awaited now that Asin has decided to let go of the golden opportunity to star opposite Thalaivar.

Fans can take our word for the fact that our Superstar has some ‘cutting edge’ action sequences in store for us in Rana.

Back in October 2010 there had been rumors of Rajini, Kamal and director Shankar to join hands with Sun Pictures for a magnum opus movie having a budget of 500 crores.

Well even though nothing materialized of the project here is a bit of good news for those who are still disappointed. Tamilcinema aficionados can expect the hit pair of Kamal and Rajini coming together after a long time. There was an era when both the stalwarts presented us with some real gems like 16 Vayathinile, Moondru Mudichu, Avargal, Ninaithale Inikkum etc, but looks like things are going to change for a new beginning.

Well it is Gautham Menon this time who is trying his best to bring the iconic demigods together as he expressed his interest in a recent chit chat with one of our close industry insiders. Gautham was quoted saying, “I would be more than happy to get Kamal and Rajini sir together in one of my movies.”

Well as of late Gautham is engaged with promotional activities for his psychological thriller Nadunisi Naaygal to release this weekend.

Considering the fact that Kamal and Rajini still share a special bond which was evident when we told you about Super Star Rajinikanth playing Kamal Haasans role in Rana things surely look optimistic.

Superstar Rajinikanth was recently crowned with theEntertainer of the Year by NDTV for his phenomenal performance in Endhiran. Now here is some good news on his much anticipated movie Rana. The latest announcement is actor Sonu Sood playing the anti-hero in  Director KS RaviKumar’s latest venture. The director felt that the role was tailor made for Sonu and he would fit the bill perfectly.

Sonu’s sly act as a mute servant in Oomaiyan and theTantric master in Arundhati was a strong deciding factor for him being the perfect pick for the villain’s role.

Rana -a multilingual in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi will be a triple delight for Rajini fans as it will also have ‘Thalaivar in Triple roles’.The projects now has Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood and of course Superstar Rajinikanth as part of the team.

Early NDTV announced the Entertainer of the Decade award to Rajinikanth. Superstar Rajinikanth got the NDTV's `Entertainer of the Decade` Award at a function held on February 15 at Taj Palace, in New Delhi.

Rajinikanth while accepting the award from Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, and to a question from NDTV chief Dr. Prannoy Roy said: "Robo (Enthiran) is my best film till date."

Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan and Trisha received NDTV Indian of the year awards.

வாரணம் ஆயிரம் மறக்க முடியாத படம். கொஞ்ச நேரம் வந்தாலும் ரசிகர்களின் இதயத்தில் எனக்கு இடம் தந்த படம் அது. கவுதம் மேனன் திறமையான இயக்குனர். அவரது நடுநிசி நாய்கள் படத்திலும் நான் நடித்துள்ளேன். இது திரில்லர் கதை.

தூக்கத்தில் நடப்பேன்…

சைக்கோ கொலையாளியிடம் மாட்டி அவனிடம் இருந்து தப்பிக்க போராட்டம் நடத்தும் ஒரு கல்லூரி மாணவியின் கதை இது. படம் பிரமாதமாக வந்துள்ளது. நிஜவாழ்வில் திகில் சம்பவங்களை நான் சந்தித்தது இல்லை.

எனக்கு ஒரு வித்தியாசமான வழக்கம் உள்ளது. அது, தூக்கத்தில் நடப்பது. ஆனால் யாருக்கும் என்னால் தொந்தரவு ஏற்பட்டதில்லை. ரஜினியின் ரசிகை நான். அவருடன் ஜோடியாக ஒருபடத்திலாவது நடிக்க ஆசை. விஜய்யும் எனக்குப் பிடித்த நடிகர்தான். அவருடனும் நடிக்க ஆசை.

காதல் அனுபவம்…

காதலிக்காத அல்லது காதலில் விழாத இளம் பெண்கள் யார்தான் இருக்க முடியும். அந்த வகையில், எனக்கும் காதல் அனுபவம் உண்டு. கல்லூரி வாழ்க்கையில் காதலித்துள்ளேன். ஆனால் பயம், வெட்கம் காரணமாக காதலை சொல்லவில்லை. அது நிறைவேறாமலே போய்விட்டது.

இனி புதிதாக காதலிக்க வேண்டும். எனக்கென்று ஒருவர் நிச்சயம் இருப்பார். இப்போது எனக்கு யாருடனும் காதல் இல்லை. அதனால் காதலர் தினத்தில் படப்பிடிப்பில் இருப்பேன்.

என்னிடம் எனக்குப் பிடித்த விஷயம், என் கண்கள். அதேபோல உலகத்திலேயே எனக்குப் பிடித்த ரசிகர்கள் தமிழ் ரசிகர்கள்தான். ரசனையில் நம்பர் ஒன். அதனால்தான் எனக்கு தமிழ் ரசிகர்களை எனக்கு ரொம்பப் பிடித்துப் போய்விட்டது. தமிழ் படங்களில் தொடர்ந்து நடிக்க ஆர்வமாய் இருக்கிறேன்..” என்றார்

It was initially ‘Sultan the Warrior’. The first animated movie starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role was then buzzed to be renamed as ‘Hara’

And now, sources have it that the film directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth has been once again rechristened, and this time as ‘Rana’. “But nothing is official till an announcement is made,” they are quick to add.
“The film is currently in its final stages of shooting,” they say, adding: “Some parts of the movie, where the real Rajini would appear, would be shot by K S Ravikumar, whose earlier ventures with the Superstar are blockbusters.”

With Vijayalakshmi of ‘Chennai 28′ and ‘Anjathey’ fame playing the leading lady, the film was announced when the top actor’s ‘Sivaji’ hit the screens. Music is by A R Rahman.

Rajnikanth to play a Triple Action Role in Rana [TFC]

Eros International and Chennai based-Ocher Studios have joined hands to co-produce Rana, superstar Rajnikanth’s next movie in which he plays a triple role.
Rana will be directed by K S Ravikumar who in the past has directed the southern superstar’s hits such as Muthu and Padayappa.

Scheduled to go on floor in March this year, Rana will be a live action magnum opus with Rajni playing triple role and will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.
Music would be scored by A R Rahman, Director of Photography would be Ratnavelu, Editing would be done by Antony. The technical and special effects director will be Soundarya Rajnikanth; Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios — renowned visual effects luminary and an Emmy award winner — will be the visual effects supervisor of the film. The film is scheduled to release in early 2012.
Speaking on the development, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, "Rajni fans will be treated to a triple role essayed by their favourite actor. Rana is going to be far different from any of the recent Rajni films, a complete live action magnum opus with loads of entertainment for his fans."
Soundarya Rajnikanth, Director of Ocher Studios Private Limited, and younger daughter of the filmstar, added, "We are very pleased to announce this partnership with Eros International for Rana. We hope to make a film that will live up to the huge expectations of the movie-goers."
Rajnikanth’s last film Robot  was a super hit that released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and grossed more than Rs 400 crore worldwide.

ஈழத்தை சேர்ந்த பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் உங்கள் ரசிகர்கள்தான். தமிழ்நாட்டில் இருப்பவர்களை விட நாங்கள் உங்களை அதிகமாக நேசிக்கின்றோம். இது உங்களுக்கு ஆச்சரியமாக இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் இதுதான் உண்மை.

தமிழீழப் போராட்டம் இன்னும் வெற்றியடையவில்லை என்று சிலர் சலித்துக் கொள்வது உண்டு. ஆனால் உண்மையை நீங்கள் சரியாக உணர்ந்திருக்கின்றீர்கள். நாங்கள் போர் புரியவில்லை. எம்மீதுதான் போர் திணிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. தமிழினத்தை அழிக்கும் நோக்கோடு எதிரி பெரும் போரை எம்மீது திணித்திருக்கிறான். நாம் தற்காப்புப் போரை நடத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். அழிந்து போய் விடக் கூடாது என்ற உறுதியோடு எதிரியின் போரை எதிர்கொள்கிறோம். எதிரி எங்களை வெல்ல முடியாத வரை, எம்மை அழிக்க முடியாத வரை, எமது போராட்டம் தொடர்ந்து நடக்கும் வரை நாம் வெற்றி பெறுகிறோம் என்பதுதான் உண்மை. இதை நீங்கள் மிக இலகுவான வார்த்தைகளில் சொல்லி விட்டீர்கள்.

இப்படியான “சன் தொலைக்காட்சி” உங்களின் படத்தை தயாரித்தால், அதை புறக்கணிப்பதைத் தவிர எனக்கு வேறு வழியில்லை. மிகவும் வருத்தத்தோடு நான் இதைச் சொல்கிறேன். தயவுசெய்து என்னை அந்த நிலைக்கு ஆளாக்காதீர்கள். என்னை மட்டும் அல்ல. வெளிநாடுகளில் உள்ள இலட்சக்கணக்கான உங்கள் ரசிகர்கள் “எந்திரன்” படத்தை புறக்கணிக்கின்ற நிலையை உருவாக்கி விடாதீர்கள்.

Trisha Pair With Rajini ? [TFC]

The latest buzz in Kollywood is that KS Ravi Kumar, who will be directing a part of the Rajini-starrer Hara, has requested Trisha to play the Superstar’s heroine. While Soundarya Rajinikanth has already completed directing most of this animation film, she has signed up KS Ravi Kumar to handle the movie part.

According to the latest rumor in Kollywood, Trisha is KSR’s choice to play Rajini’s lead pair as he has to direct five songs sets to tune by the Oscar winner AR Rahman.

It may be mentioned here that Vijayalakshmi plays Rajini’s pair in the animation version.

Superstar Rajnikanth, a close friend of actor Vijayakumar for more than the past three decades, visited the SRMC Hospital in Porur yesterday to call on his friend who’s been admitted to the Hospital following a second ‘heart-attack’.

Vijayakumar, who has been caught in an unexpected difference of opinion with his own daughter and ex-actress Vanitha, has seen a lot in the last few months.  The daughter-father duo had filed complained against each other with the Police seeking action.  While Vanitha claims that Vijayakumar assaulted her and was denying her to be with her son (born of her first marriage), the latter has claimed that Vanitha’s second husband had assaulted himself.
In the meantime, Vijayakumar complained of severe chest pain on Wednesday and was rushed to the SRMC Hospital.  Still in the ICU despite having been declared ‘out of danger’, Vijayakumar had a visitor in Rajnikanth yesterday.  After spending a few minutes with Vijayakumar, Rajni spoke to doctors attending on him and enquired about his progress.
Later in the day, Sarath Kumar (president of ‘Nadigar Sangam’) and his wife Radhika Sarath Kumar and director Kathir called on the ailing actor.
