While ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ was perhaps a classic melo-drama, the makers of this film have now set forth to bring the same team together again. It’s no more a buzz or an unconfirmed new as producer Dhananjayan of UTV Motion Pictures uncovers some details about the project.

Yes, director Vijay and actor Vikram will be coming together for another film produced by UTV Motion Pictures. As heard from director Vijay, the film will be a taut action-thriller shot stylishly with his usual crew like G.V Prakash Kumar (Music), Nirav Shah (Cinematography) and others.
It is revealed that Vikram will have hotties Anushka and Amy Jackson starring opposite him in female lead roles. As reported by Dhananjayan, major portions of the film will be shot across Los Angeles and San Francisco...

Hansika Motwani turns down Vikram’s ‘Rajapattai’? (TFC)

The latest sensation in the Tamil film industry seems to be having one's priorities right. While many heroines these days consider doing item numbers even while acting as a heroine, Hansika Motwani seems to have turned down an offer that came her way from Vikram's upcoming film 'Rajapattai'.

While the demand for appearing in item numbers is increasing every passing day, sources close to Hansika Motwani reveal that she did not give her thumbs up despite being offered a dainty package of more than 1 crore! It is also reported that Hansika Motwani, at the moment, is not interested in featuring in item numbers.
Suseendhiran, it is reported, wanted a South Indian heroine who has never done an item song to appear for this song, and hence his first choice was Hansika Motwani. But now since, Hansika Motwani has passed the offer the slot is still open and might land on another lead lady from the south soon.
'Rajapattai' is a strong hero-oriented subject where Vikram plays a gym instructor. He has of course also gone in for a makeover getting into the skin of his character with a toned up body et al. Deeksha Seth plays his love interests in the film which is touted to spring a lot of surprises.

Vikram plays Anal Murugan (TFC)

Many of us know that Vikram is playing a gym-instructor in his forthcoming film 'Rajapattai', which is directed by Suseenthiran of 'Nan Mahan Alla' and 'Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai' fame. But the role has some interesting characteristics, which is hitherto unknown.

Vikram's name in the film is Anal Murugan, who is not just a gym instructor, but also a stunt man in movies. His sole aim in life is to make it big in the film industry as a villain artiste. He has a loving grandfather too (Viswanath).
Says director Suseenthiran, "These days we read in newspapers on incidents of land grabbing and the police action on the wrong-doers. This is the basic knot of Rajapattai. Vikram will be seen in a pucca action role."
He says, "It is a constant decision by me and Vikram to make a commercial movie on the lines of Dhil, Dhool and Saami. The Chiyaan's fans will be awestruck to see their favorite role in a full-fledged masala role after a long gap."

Vikram’s Karikalan in trouble? (TFC)

Vikram’s next big film ‘Karikalan’ created ripples when those eye catchy pictures portraying Vikram as a Warrior King were released recently, and it had wide appreciations for its concept and colour! Critics and other fans predicted that the film would also come as a neat production like the beautiful pictures.

But, contrary to the happy beginning the film is now in a trouble that writer A R Gandhikrishna, who did ‘Chellame’ and ‘Anandha Thaandavam’, is now complaining that his name was not there in the credits of the promotional stills of the film in spite of him being the original writer of the story and the script.
“I was introduced to L I Kannan, the director of ‘Karikalan’, and the one-liner of the story was told to him by me. I also wrote the whole script as an official writer of the film when the director and producer asked me to write. Now they have blackened my name by not mentioning my name and giving credit to me in the promotional pictures”, says the angry writer-director.
But, the director has his version of the controversy and he says, “As a senior writer-director he was consulted by me and my team in writing the script. He cannot claim for the whole script when he had only given some suggestions!” The film is a story of the legendary king Karikala Cholan. The film is directed by debut director L I Kannan and features ‘Chiyan’ Vikram as the warrior king. New faces Zarine Khan, Mitra Kurien and Radhika Apte are the three actresses who are going to do the three leading ladies role.

Deiva Thirumagal to release on July 15 (TFC)

Deiva Thirumagal had to be released somewhere around in July first to second week. The producers had to make the choice on the release depending upon the release of other films, especially Venghai. Deiva Thirumagal was keenly observing the promotions of Venghai.

Venghai is confirmed for a July 8, 2011 release while Deiva Thirumagal will follow the next week. Venghai is not released by Sun Pictures and the producer himself has gone ahead to release the film. Deiva Thirumagal should have been released on July 1, 2011.
In fact, it should have been released by April but the delay is quite normal in any film. Deiva Thirumagal has Vikram, Amala Paul, and Anushka in the lead. Director AL Vijay has taken inspirations from “I AM SAM” and the academy award nominated character played by Sean Penn. The release date of Deiva Thirumagal is officially confirmed on July 15, 2011.

UTV Motion Pictures has purchased the all India theatrical rights of Vikram's AL Vijay directed Deiva Thirumagal, produced by Mogan Nadarajan of Sri Rajakaliamman Medias.

Deiva Thirumagal  is now ready for release. It features Vikram in the lead role as a mentally challenged adult with the maturity of a five-year-old boy, while Anushka , Amala Paul,Santhanam, KK and Nassar are in the supporting cast.

GV Prakash provides music and Nirav Shah is the cameraman. Plans are on to release the movie early next month.

Vikram Back With Dhool And Saamy (TFC)

Chiyaan Vikram often opts for the movies that win him rave reviews. In fact, he has been striding through a wonderful phase winning accolades and appreciations. On the pars, the actor has done some commercial movies like ‘Dhool’ and ‘Saamy’ that were top-drawers in box office.
After a long sabbatical gap, the actor is now back with a commercial entertainer titled ‘Rajapattai’. The film is directed by Susindran and is produced by Prathish and Santhosh (sons of producer Ramesh of Kanagarathna Movies).
The entire crew was present interacting with media channels on the film. Shedding light on the film Vikram said, “I was very much interested in doing commercial films like ‘Dhool’ and ‘Saamy’, but didn’t get a right combination. Now I am really excited as Susindran has come up with a mass masala entertainer and we are sure it will rock across all the centres.”

Chiyaan Vikram’s forthcoming film Deiva Thirumagal directed by A L Vijay is all set to hit the screens on June 17th, 2011.
Deiva Thirumagal is the remake of Hollywood movie I Am Sam. Vikram plays the role of a mentally challenged adult with the maturity of a five-year-old boy, Anushka, Amala Paul and Nassar are essaying pivotal roles in the film. Deiva Thirumagal is simultaneously releasing in Telugu as Nanna and recently the team was in Hyderabad for the Telugu audio launch of the film.
Deiva Thirumagal cast and crew are on a promotion spree across Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The unit was spotted at God’s own country- Kerala on Monday. Vikram, director Vijay, Anushka and Amala Paul, GV Prakash, producer Mogan Natarajan, child artist Sara are seen promoting the film in a bigger way. They held a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram as it has more of mass market. The entire team chilled out in the world famous Kovalam beach at the Taj Kovalam.
As the per the Kerala distributors, Deiva Thirumagal has brighter chances of releasing on June 17 as it is considered as Vikram’s lucky date.

Recently the title of the movie Deiva Thirumagan has been strongly objected by the Thevar Community stating that it is the nick name of their leader Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar. They also demanded a name change for the movie as the hero of the movie is shown as a person with mental disability. They claim this as an insult to their idol who is been fondly called as Deiva Thirumagan. Following this, earlier today activists from Thevar Community, Forward Block Party and Shiva Sena have staged a protest in front of Vikram’s house.

The police who entered the scene arrested many. Meanwhile, Mohan Natarajan, the producer of the movie has announced that the title of the movie is changed to “Deiva Thirumagal”. Deiva Thirumagal directed by AL Vijay produced by Mohan Natarajan of Sri Rajakaliamman Medias is expected to hit theatres on 18th May. The movie stars Vikram, Anushka, Nasser, MS Baskar with others. So, Deiva Thirumagan is now Deiva Thirumagal!
