Comedian Senthil admitted in hospital (TFC)

Comedian Senthil was admitted to the Billroth Hospital in Aminjikarai, Chennai and is getting treated for the piles complaint that has been troubling him for quite some time now.
Senthil formed a successful alliance along with ace comedian Goundamani, considered by many as the ‘King of Comedy’, and was an integral part of many films that released throughout the period from the mid-eighties till the late-nineties. The duo was mainly instrumental in making many mediocre films tasting success at the box-office, thanks to their comedy track which mostly ran parallel to the story of the film(s).
After Goundamani chose not to star in films a few years back, Senthil too found no takers for his brand of comedy. The fact that he campaigned against Kalaignar and in favour of Amma during the 2006 elections meant that he faced an ‘unofficial boycott’ from the industry for the next five years.
Senthil’s relatives admitted him to the Billroth hospitals where he is presently treated by a team of doctors led by Dr. Kannan. A surgery was also performed yesterday to correct the anomaly, it is said. Senthil is said to have responded well to the treatment and if everything goes well, he could be discharged in 2-3 days, the sources at the hospital said.
