In Suthan S Ramachandran’s case, it is the latter. Prashanth has elevated the costs of the flick leading the producer to sell his ancestral home to make the film. The producer is now walking with bare hands. He is working in a hotel wiping tables to make ends meet.
Prashanth has not helped him after he faced loss. One of the leading weekly magazines had published an article about the producer. Reading the article, Director Bala had come forward to cast him in Avan Ivan. He was given the sub-inspector role which was comical.
The producer was so much bereaved that he could not perform comic roles. Bala tried his best to give him life but the producer couldn’t act. A lot of similar stories could be seen in and around Kodambakkam - the hub of Tamil cinema. While some live, some fail to live. The ones who live don’t necessarily care about the ones who fail to live. But there seem to be some who do like director Bala.
