Actresses Trisha, Shriya Saran and Sneha have been served with individual noticesfrom the Telugu Cine Artistes’ Association (TCCA) to pay up the subscription required for them to continue to remain as actresses in Tollywood. “If the subscription is not renewed within 15 days of the receipt of this notice, you won’t be able take any further part in the shooting of any Telugu films,” the notice said.
It is mandatory for the Telugu film industry to ask all the actors and actresses including those from Kollywood to enroll themselves as members of the TCCA. At a recent meeting, the Nadigar Sangam of Kollywood passed a resolution saying that all the newcomers should get enrolled themselves as members of the Sangam before 30th September failing which they won’t be signed up for new films by the producers and directors.
Taking cue from Kollywood, the TCCA has also sent notices to many top actresses who star in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam language movies besides Telugu films as the remuneration is more in these languages. The actresses who have been sent noticesinclude the likes of Genelia, Ileana, Tapasee, Sneha, Tamanna, Trisha, Nithya Menon and Shriya Saran.
Almost all of them are members of Kollywood’s Nadigar Sangam but are either not members or haven’t renewed their membership. They would have to fall in line with the diktat in order to avoid facing ban from Tollywood.
