Starring Suriya, in double roles, and Shruthi Haasan, the film, being produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, began production in May 2010. The story is said to revolve around a "super machine", which is brought to India.The film will be also dubbed and released in Telugu The film, made on a budget of INR84 crore (US$18.73 million), is the most expensive film in Suriya's career till date.

It stars his brother Dhanush, along with Richa Gangopadhyay, and features music scored by G. V. Prakash Kumar while the cinematography is handled by Ramji. Velayudham  is an upcoming Tamil action-masala film directed by M. Raja. It stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza in lead roles. The film was formally launched on July 15, 2010 with its photo shoots taken earlier during the month.Produced by V. Ravichandran's Aascar Films, the film is currently in its post-production stage and expected to release during Diwali 2011.
