Sun Pictures slips again, 2nd time in a month (TFC)

Sun Picture, the media giant, has met with failure in its latest two releases after the super-duper hit ‘Endhiran: The Robot’ which starred superstar Rajnikanth & Aishwarya Rai and released last year. Missing to hit the bull’s eye on two consecutive occasions that too within a month, hasn’t done any good to the reputation of the company.

This has given handle to the detractors who say that though Sun Pictures is part of the huge Sun Network, it hasn’t been able to achieve success as the television channel has managed. In the past few years when Sun Pictures is in existence, it has only delivered two ‘hit’ films, it is categorically stated by trade sources who don’t want to ‘identify’ themselves.
Except for Rajnikanth’s ‘Endhiran’ and Surya’s ‘Ayan’, all the films distributed and released by Sun Pictures during the past few years have all been ‘success’ only on paper and not in reality, it is strongly rumoured. After last year’s success in ‘Endhiran’, Sun Pictures appears to have ‘slipped’ twice within a month in releasing and distributing ‘Mappillai’ and ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’.
The much-touted and much-awaited ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ ran dry shows on its very second day in some leading theatres in the city, it is said. However, not accepting the reality, Sun Pictures continues to flood the promos of the film on all the channels the Network controls to created an illusion as if it’s a super-hit film!

Prabhu Deva has taken the ever fading genre of Romance and has succeeded. Love is the main theme of the movie that is said in exotic locations of France. Will there be a best name for a romantic character other than Kamal? Jayam Ravi as Kamal, a committed and hard working businessman who is busy with business for 11 months and spends the rest one month away from home, certianly at a hot tourist destination (Paris).

Jayam Ravi is stylish at his best and proves his mettle once again as a chocolate boy! Hanshika Motwani, the happening lady in Kollywood as Lolita does her job well in the movie. She romances well with Jayam Ravi and their on screen chemistry is awesome. Though she flawed in delivering the dialogues well, it is well managed by her dubbing artist.

The movie revolves around Kamal (Jayam Ravi) and Lolita (Hanshika Motwani) who tries to help Kamal come out of a trap that is set for him. Kamal who has no belief in love falls in love. As he considers love as a committed task which will disappoint for sure. The rest is how Lolita changes his mind and conquers his heart. Jayam Ravi at his best scene after scene, Rajusundaram after Unnale Unnale is hilarious in the movie. Rajasekhar (Suman) as Lolita's father did his job well with his acting prowess. Prakash Raj does a blink and miss role!

Prabhu Deva has come out with a beautiful love story and presented in a clean way with enormous support from all the rechnical departments.
Nirav Shah's lenses speaks throughout the movie. Editing is by Antony, need to say more? Kudos to Harris for magical love songs and the BGM's. Songs are picturised in exotic locales and are well choreographed! Make up department deserves a special mention. The movie is good except for the nativity as the story happens in France. Engeyum Kaadhal is Prabhu Deva's Victorious attempt.

பிரபு தேவா இயக்கத்தில், ஜெயம் ரவி - ஹன்ஸிகா மோத்வானி நடித்துள்ள எங்கேயும் காதல் படத்தை சன் டிவி வாங்கியுள்ளதாக நம்பகமான வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவித்தன.

இதற்கிடையில் இந்தப் படத்தைப் பார்த்த சன் பிக்சர்ஸ் நிர்வாகிகள், இதனை தங்கள் பேனரில் வெளியிட விருப்பம் தெரிவித்ததால், வெளியீட்டு உரிமையை அவர்களுக்கு கொடுத்துள்ளார் படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளர் கல்பாத்தி அகோரம்.

தனுஷ் நடித்த மாப்பிள்ளை படமும் சன் டிவி வசம்தான் உள்ளது. அப்படியெனில் இரண்டு படங்களும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் வருமா... என்ற கேள்வியுடன் காத்திருக்கிறது கோடம்பாக்கம்.

Jeyam Ravi Starring Engeyum Kadhal not for Valentine’s Day [TFC]

‘Engeyum Kadhal’ starring Jeyam Ravi and Hansika Motwani was supposed to hit screens on February 14 for the occasion of Valentine’s Day, but is now postponed to month of March due to unavailability of theatres. Moreover, the producers of AGS Entertainments aren’t willing to release the movie since they have got their movie ‘Yuddham Sei’ hitting screens on this Friday (February 14).

Engeyum Kadhal’ is an upcoming romantic film that has Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani in the lead and is written and directed by choreographer-actor turned filmmaker Prabhu Deva. The film was first titled ‘Ich’ and was renamed ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ only after the shooting was completed.

This is the first film of Hansika Motwani in Tamil who has some big films like ‘Maapillai’ with Dhanush and ‘Velayudham’ with Vijay lined up this year. The film is produced by Kalpathi.S.Agoram for his AGS Entertainment.

‘Engeyum Kadhal’ is a cheerful romantic film about an unrestrictive playboy Aarya (played by Jayam Ravi), who doesn’t realize the essence of true love until he meets Lolitha (played by Hansika Motwani) who lives in France and fall in love.
The whole film was shot in France and the cinematography of Nirav Shah will be an added attraction in the film.
However the biggest driving force of the film is going to be its music by Harris Jayaraj. The songs were composed as early as the Christmas season in 2009. Prabhu Deva and Harris Jayaraj had gone to Sydney, Australia for the compositions.
The music of ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ was launched on November 8 exactly on the date Harris Jayaraj’s first album ‘Minnale’ arrived ten years ago. The music was first scheduled to release on October 3 but was postponed due to ‘Enthiran mania’ prevailing then.

The film has seven songs and all of them have received enthusiastic responses from the music lovers. Particularly the numbers ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ and ‘Nenjil Nenjil’ have become cracking hits. One song ‘Dhimu Dhimu’ was also used in the Telugu film Orange as ‘Chilipaga’ by Harris.
‘Engeyum Kadhal’ has been a much awaited film from November last year. Now the film is now scheduled to be a Valentine’s Day release in February.

Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani are playing the lead roles in this romantic entertainer. The film is a jolly and cheerful love story with new concept. The songs are already topping the chartbusters. The film was shot in beautiful scenic locations in Paris and France as these places will suit the best for this romantic story.
Harris Jayraj has scores the music, which is rocking on all FM stations. Nirav Shah has captured the beautiful locations with his excellent camera work. Kalpathy S Aghoram is producing the film under the banner of AGS Entertainment.
