Osthi – Who plays what? (TFC)
While we know that Simbu is playing a carefree cop Velan in his forthcoming film 'Osthi', here goes the list of other characters from this film that has set in much expectations among the young and masses at urban and rural centers.
Naasser plays Simbu's father, while Revathy his mother. 'Jithan' Ramesh is Simbu's brother in this movie and his love interest is Saranya Mohan. Needless to say, Richa Gangopadhyay, the Tollywood import, plays Simbu's lady love.
Wait, we have more to say. Simbu's close friend and producer VTV Ganesh has played Richa Gangopadhyay's father in this film directed by Dharani, while Santhanam, Mayilsamy and Vaiyapuri have played the colleagues of the hero in police station. And Thambi Ramaiah is playing a crucial character role.
Sonu Sood has done a powerful baddie and 'Osthi' will be an important film in his career, it is said. Simbu's special song with Mallika Sherawat, 'Kalasala...' has been picturised on a whopping budget and plans are on to release the movie by the end of this month.

Simbu’s six pack ready (TFC)
Finally Simbu is ready to rip off his shirt for Osthi. He has developed six pack abs after strenuous work-out in the gym for over month. Says Simbu, ‘I am ready and raring to go. My six-pack abs is ready for the climax’.
The climax of Osthi will be shot in Chennai. It would be a action sequence between Simhu and Sonu Sood.
Osthi is a remake of Hindi hit Dabbang. If Simbhu plays Osthi Velan, a role enacted by Salman Khan in the original. Richa Gangopadhyaya plays his heroine. Directed by Dharani, the movie has music is by S Thaman.

Young Superstar Simbu thanks Ilayathalapathy Vijay (TFC)
The audio launch of Osthi was literally a ‘Katcheri’ as the singers rocked on the podium with the live performances of the songs. The greatest highlight amongst them was the performances by the singers. It was a special surprise for the entire crowd as Ilayathalapathy Vijay graced over the occasion.
Expressing his gratitude for Vijay, Simbu has said, “Osthi audio launch was a huge success. Thanks to all my Fans for making it special and to Ilayathalapathy Vijay Anna for coming down, knowing the fact that I am an AGMARK Thala Ajith Fan. Shows how Stars should be.”
Osthi songs have already become the favorite of the masses with the title song ‘Osthi Maamu’, ‘Pondati’ and ‘Kalaasala’ turning to be the cherry-picks.

Simbu is Osthi Velan (TFC)
It is known that STR aka Simbu is playing a police officer in ‘Osthi’ directed by Dharani, which is a remake of Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’. The name of the character the ‘Young Superstar’ doing in the movie is Velan, who is known as Osthi Velan.
“Though he is a police officer, he has his own set of rules. He is a kind of Robin Hood who is full of energy and enthusiasm,” says Simbu, who has fallen in love with his role. “Yes, it is a complete mass character and a first of its kind role for me,” he says.
On the director, he says, “Dharani has completed the shoot of Osthi in a record time of 90 days, that too without compromising in any fronts. The film is going to be a sure shot.”
Simbu has a regret however. “I don’t know who invented six packs. It takes so much of pain to develop one, but I had no other option than doing it for Osthi. A great lover of biriyani, I had to miss it for months together for the sake of building six packs for the film.”

Osthi Audio Release Date Simbu's Osthi Movie Audio Launch Date (TFC)
Silambarasan’s upcoming film Osthi will see an audio launch on October 6. Though the makers have tried to release a single track before the audio launch but it didn’t happened due to some official reasons.
The unit is back in Chennai from Mysore after completing the shoot for about 87 days and post production works are going on full swing. The audio launch will be a grand and glitzy affair and moreover Salman Khan is expected to grace the launch as a special guest. The expectations around Osthi music is high as it carries a hot and sizzling item number featuring Simbu, Sonu Sood and Mallika Sherawat. This song is said to be one of the USPs of the film.
Simbu says “We had intentionally delayed the release of the single track as we are in plans of launching the whole album on October 6th along with the trailer. As of now four songs got wrapped up and Munni song will get ready soon”.

Simbu completes ‘Osthi’ (TFC)
young Superstar Simbu is strictly sticking to punctual style of working. Initially, his projects would go through several hurdles while shooting and often get shelved for no valid reason. But his success graph with ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ has left him to go through a hard-and-fast rule of picking up new-fangled tactics.
The actor is now simultaneously working on more projects. While his ‘Poda Podi’ is on the final leg of post production works, Simbu is now done with the shooting of ‘Osthi’ in Mysore at a single-stretch schedule. Sooner, he will start shooting for ‘Vettai Mannan’ that is directed by close friend Neslon’.

Osthi preview (TFC)
Simbu is devoting himself completely for this Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster film 'Dabangg' which had Salman Khan playing the lead. The Hindi original had a blast at the box-office becoming the biggest entertainer of the year, and Simbu too is giving the Tamil counterpart his all to make 'Osthi' as successful as 'Dabangg' was in Hindi.

Simbu will be Vel Murugan, a cop with oodles of attitude. He will be speaking Tirunelveli dialect in the film. For sporting a sleek physique which the film demands, Simbu is hitting the gym regularly for that sculpted look. Directed by Dharani, the film has a host of other popular stars in prominent roles. Revathi will be seen playing Simbu's mom. Richa Gangopadhyay will play Simbu's love interest; 'Jithan' Ramesh will play Simbu's brother.
Sonu Sood who played baddie in the Hindi original will be clashing with Simbu in the Tamil version too. Music will be composed by Thaman. Simbu has crooned for a song in this film which the actor has claimed will be loved by ladies.
'Dabangg' in Hindi had Salman Khan in the lead with Sonakshi Sinha playing the female lead. This was also Sonakshi Sinha's launch pad as heroine in Bollywood. It is just a matter of time to see if 'Osthi' will repeat the history created by 'Dabangg' in Bollywood!
