One more Vijay Vs Dhanush (TFC)
This isn’t something new, but a process over the years. Perhaps, it’s a mere coincidence as the films of Vijay & Dhanush have clashed several times in the box office, especially for the festive occasion of Pongal. Three years back, it was Villu Vs Padikadhavan that was released on January 14. However both the films received lukewarm response disappointing the fans.
This year 2011, it was Aadukalam and Kaavalan that won critical acclaims and yielded best results for producers as well.
The forthcoming Pongal is not gonna be an exception as the actors will continue to clash with their films. If what we heard from the trade circles is believed to be true then Dhanush’s upcoming movie ‘3’ directed by his wife Aishwarya will hit screens on January 14, 2012. Shankar’s ‘Nanban’ starring Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth is already confirmed for the same occasion as the paper ads have already confirmed it as ‘Pongal is Well’.

Happy at Velayudham success, says Vijay (TFC)
Thrilled at the bumper opening for his Deepavali release Velayudham, actor Vijay said all credit should go to my director Jayam Raja and producer Aascar V Ravichandran.
Addressing media persions in Chennai, he said, ‘ velayudham is a movie to reckon with in my career. It is certainly one of the best. The whole unit gave their best’.
Vijay’s Velayudham will be followed by Nanban for Pongal. he will soon be seen acting in a movie titled Yohan Athiyayam Ondru to be directed by Goutham Menon.
On his movie with A.R Murugadoss, he said, ‘an official conformation would be made soon’.
On his part, director Raja, said ‘doing a commercial film is no easy task. It has to have all mass elements at right mix. Velayudham is perfect entertainer and Vijay hogged all limelight and made my job easier’.

Ooty says ‘no’ to Velayudham (TFC)
While Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ is making high waves across all the regions, it’s a big disappoint for the Ilayathalapathy Vijay fans. It’s an appalling situation as none of the theatres in hilly region have released the film.
While rest of the films have made a bigger opening that include Shahrukh Khan’s Ra One and Surya-Shruti Hassan starrer 7am Arivu, the reason is still unknown.

Velayudham not bothered about 7am Arivu & Ra.One (TFC)
All my previous films have been remakes and I will continue remaking in future, but ‘Velayudham’ is so special as I have just got the plot of ‘Azad’ as an inspiration while the screenplay and treatment will be fresh and new’ said Jeyam Raja, who was present along with his wife and cute daughter at Hotel Green Park addressing media channels about his ‘Velayudham’.
‘We have done our best and producer Aascar Ravichandran has been so pleasing as he was ready to spend more money into the project. I am awestruck with ‘7am Arivu’ that has more budget than ‘Velayudham’ and ‘Ra.One’ three times bigger than these Tamil films. But I am very confident with Velayudham as it will surely cater to the tastes of universal family audiences.
It has right mix of comedy, action, glamour, romance, emotions and sentiments. I am not bothered if even 10 films like 7am Arivu and Ra One are released together. When I started shooting for ‘Velayudham’, we had no intentions of keeping these films in mind, but worked hard on the script and audiences will surely enjoy the film to the core’ added Jeyam Raja.
The distributors and theatre owners have mentioned that the climax of Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ is something unforeseen and one of the best climax scenes of Tamil films.
The film has already occupied the major screens of Tamil Nadu and is opening in around 150 theatres of Kerala and 100 theatres of Karnataka. The bookings for the film across UK and USA are happening well.

Velayudham releasing big, over 820 prints (TFC)
'Velayudham', the most awaited flick of Ilayathalapathy Vijay is hitting worldwide cinema halls on this Dewali with ' hold your breadth - over 820 screens!
Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, Vijay has two gorgeous lead ladies - Hansika Motwani and Genelia. Directed by Jayam Raja who is known for commercial dramas that cater to family audiences, according to its producer, the movie will be released with record number of prints in Kerala and Karnataka. It may be mentioned that Vijay has a huge fan following in the God's Own Country as well as in Karnataka.

Read on as Vijay gets candid and speaks on his role in Velayudham, clarifies reports on the much talked about Dookudu remake, his project with AL Vijay, his plans this Dewali and a lot more!

How did this film with Jayam Raja happen?
I have watched all his films and I was supposed to work with him two years back itself under Sanguli Murugan sir’s banner. We missed out on it and he started off a project with his brother, Jayam Ravi. Then we met one day and he came with a one-liner on Velayudham which interested me so we started off with this project immediately. I asked him jokingly whether he will do movies only with his brother and not me and that’s how all this started off.
This is a commercial entertainer and you have delivered many time and again. But this is your first part superhero project, what’s special about it? What about the horse riding scenes?
Yes but this is not a superhero film with extra powers for the hero or something on those lines. 'Velayudham' portrays the hero somewhere between a common man and a superhero. Speaking on horse riding, actually I learnt horse riding quite a while ago, even before stepping into films. All the training is being of use to me now (smiles).

The audio launch of Osthi was literally a ‘Katcheri’ as the singers rocked on the podium with the live performances of the songs. The greatest highlight amongst them was the performances by the singers. It was a special surprise for the entire crowd as Ilayathalapathy Vijay graced over the occasion.

Further probe about the music launch function yielded some results. The launch is being planned in Chennai by the last week of November. “It will be a grand show in which top guns of Tamil cinema will mark their presence. Even cultural programs have been planned a source said.
It seems that Harris Jayaraj who had earlier scored music for Shankar’s ‘Anniyan’, has scored some beautiful tunes in Nanban. All the songs in the film have the quality to emerge chartbusters. The songs have been composed with youngsters in mind as the film is about youngsters.
Nanban is produced by Gemini Film Circuit and is a remake of Hindi hit ’3 Idiots’. Nanban is currently in its post production stage.

Velayudham says ‘OKOK’ (TFC)
There no permanent friends or enemies in the field of politics, business and incisively - The Film Industry. Especially in the recent times, there are lots of happy moments arriving in Kollywood as we see the once-not so friendly personalities coming into sweet terms. Earlier it was Ajith and producer A.M Rathnam coming together for a big budgeted project.
