There was a calm before a storm. Kollywood witnessed very few films of movies hitting the screens in the past one month (after the change of government in Tamilnadu).
But now with change of guard in various trade bodies of the film industry, it is back to normal. This week-end three big films are ready to try their luck at the box-office. Jithan Ramesh's Pillayar Theru Kadaisi Veedu, Siddharth in Nootrienbathu and Udhayan starring former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's grandson Arulnidhi.
Nootrienbathu, directed by Jayendra features Siddharth, Priya Anand and Nithya Menon in lead roles. Pillayar Kovil Kadaisi Veedu is the 81st offering from R.B Choudhary's Super Good Films. Directed by debutant Thirumalai Kishore, the movie features Ramesh and Sanchitha Padukone in the lead roles.
Arulnidhi is all set for the release of his second film Udhayan. The film directed by Chaplin has Arulnidhi and Pranitha in the lead along with Santhanam, Bhanu and Ashish Vidyarthi.
Following long bandwagon of big tickets, the producers of medium and small budget movies are on the rise of getting their projects into theatres. This Friday is somewhat important for certain actors as they make their comeback after a very long time.
Grandiosely debuting with Shankar’s ‘Boys’ and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’, Siddharth didn’t gain big offers down here in Kollywood and after 7 long years, he is all set to strike back with ‘Nootrenbadu’. On the pars, ‘Jithan’ Ramesh wasn’t able to make it happen with his previous movies. ‘Pillayar Theru Kadasi Veedu’.
Both the films are touted to be based on different genres and young upcoming star Arulnidhi joins the race as his ‘Udhayan’ will open tomorrow with more prints.
'Audience will call ‘Jithan’ Ramesh as ‘Pillayar Theru’ Ramesh once the movie is released', says debutant filmmaker Thirumalai Kishore, who is so confident about his directorial maiden venture ‘Pillayar Theru Kadaisi Veedu’.
'Such is his performance as a carefree youngster. He fits so well to the character and has given his best. Everyone will sure accept and appreciate Ramesh’s acting skills after the film’s release,' the director says.
Produced by R.B Choudhary’s Super Good Films, ‘Pillayar Theru Kadaisi Veedu’ has Sanchitha Padukone of ‘Vettaikaran’ fame as heroine. Music has been composed by Srikanth Deva and the film will hit the screen this Friday.
Going down the memory lane, Thirumalai Kishore says, 'When I was doing my graduation in a college in Tirupati, an incident took place which I would never forget in my life. That particular incident inspired me to come out with this film.'
