A source close to Mani Ratnam has revealed that the director who was in search of a heroine for his next Tamil film called actress Samantha for a screen test.
Samantha is the heroine in Gautham Menon’s next film Neethane En Ponvasantham. During the shoot Samantha got a call from Madras Talkies office, Mani Ratnam’s production house.
A thrilled Samantha rushed to the office for a screen test but unfortunately after the screen test Samantha was told that she did not fit in. Mani Ratnam is launching actor Karthik’s son Gautham as hero in his next film said to be a passionate love story. Mani Ratnam has decided to return to making Tamil films after making a few Hindi films continuously. He has decided to make a best love story and the search is still on for heroine the source said.
