Nanban in Both Tamil & Telugu for Pongal 2012 (TFC)

Shankar is all set to release his eagerly awaited multi-starrer Nanban starring Vijay, Jiiva, Ileana, Srikanth and Sathyaraj.

The film is almost complete except for some patchwork and half a song.Nanban is the remake of Raju Hirani’s mega blockbuster 3 Idiots starring Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor and Bomman Irani. The big news is that the Tamil Nanban is now getting dubbed into Telugu.


The producers of the film Gemini Film Circuit (GFC) feel director Shankar by himself has a market in Telugu.  Ileana, is the most popular Telugu heroine. Jiiva and Srikanth are known to Andhra audiences, but the films hero Vijay is not a brand in AP.


At a time when Suriya, Vikram, Karthi and other heroes are household names in Andhra through their Tamil films dubbed into Telugu, Vijay’s films do not have a dubbing market in AP.


Now GFC and Shankar is making an effort to promote Vijay in AP and get the audiences to know him better. The buzz is that Vijay’s old films (most of them are Telugu remakes) are being suddenly being dubbed into Telugu.


Vijay’s Aadhi (a remake of Telugu Athanokkade) is now being dubbed into Telugu as Nene Raa Aadi!

Similarly a few other Vijay films will be dubbed into Telugu by GFC “for testing the waters” before Shankar’s  Nanban releases in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously  on January 14, 2012.

NANBAN (3 Idiots) Exclusive [TFC]

Putting all assumptions, premonitions and the ifs and buts over the Tamil remake of '3 Idiots' the producers of the film Gemini Film Circuit has released a statement confirming their mega venture is titled 'Nanban', it will be directed by Shankar and star Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth in Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi roles respectively.

The jumbo endeavor will have popular Tollywood heroine Ileana playing Kareena Kappor in Tamil. Other pivotal roles are played by Sathyaraj and Sathyan. Director SJ Suryah, Actress Anuya and Ajay Rathinam will make special appearances.

Scenes involving Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Sathyan and SJ Suryah are being shot in Ooty for the next ten days. Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay will join the team from February 25 for his portions.

Other important credits in the technical side are: Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, Music by Harris Jayaraj, Lyrics by Na Muthukumar, Art by Muthuraj, Editing by Anthony, Dialogues by Shankar and Madan Karky.

It's Not Suriya, but Vijay for '3 Idiots’ [TFC]

Nearly before a month, it turned out to be a disappointing affair for the fans of Vijay, when they got to hear that their favorite actor is no more into Shankar’s remake of ‘3 Idiots’. Talks were that Suriya will be replacing him.

But now we hear that Vijay will be precisely signing the project and the official confirmations will be made once the schedule dates are finalized.

Vijay is busy now shooting Jeyam Raja’s ‘Velayudham’ and he will have to adjust dates accordingly. If everything goes well between them, then we have the team of ‘3 Idiots’, which will be Vijay-Jeeva-Srikanth.

Suriya In 3 Idiots Tamil Telugu Remakes! Shankar Confirmed?

The suspense looming over 3 Idiots Tamil remake as Moovar/Telugu remake as 3 Rascals is still on. Nothing is official to date, but it is almost confirmed that Vijay is out of this project. On the other hand, Mahesh Babu who is supposed to play main lead in Telugu version too backed out of it.

Now, Shankar is in search for an apt replacement that will fit into Telugu and Tamil remakes. As per the latest updates, Shankar is trying for Surya for this bilingual. He is also considering Ajith Kumar in this role.

Sources said Shankar confirmed Actor Suriya for 3 Idiots Tamil & Telugu Remake. Shankar thought surya will apt for both languages. So Suriya Will do Next Movie Shankar 3 idiots remakes after 7aam Arivu.

Moovar - Nanban: 3 Idiots Tamil Remake Title, Shankar, Vijay, Jeeva, Ileana

Director Shankar is back to what he does best. We have mentioned enough number of times that the ‘3 idiots’ will not make a great film in Tamil, though it could in Telugu. Owing to Shankar’s reputation, the film is not a perfect one for Shankar.

After directing a film for Rs. 162 crore, ‘3 idiots’ will be too negligible a film. Shankar also understands that the Hindi version is seen by many in Tamil Nadu as well as Andhra Pradesh. Hence, he is making changes in the script.

Shankar, who will not take things lightly and will work on things to the core to get them right, will make key changes in the script that will make the film a hit. A surprising change is that Ileana will get a competitor. The remake of ‘3 idiots’ will get a new heroine besides ‘Ileana’.

The new heroine will play the second heroine, possibly to be paired with either of the other two actors, Jiiva and Srikanth. The film has already lost star value as Suriya, Madhavan, Siddharth and Arya had all opted out.

Shankar is rightly set to “Fill in the blanks” and we hope he will “Choose the best answer”. Shankar has also found a suitable title for the Tamil remake which was tentatively titled “3 Rascals” which would sabotage the chances of availing tax exemption.

The new title would be “Moovar” in Tamil. It will remain the same as “3 Rascals” for the Telugu version, until a new change is brought in. Let us suggest titles for both the Tamil and Telugu versions of “3 idiots”.

The Tamil version will sound better as “Moondru Madaiyargal”, literal translation of the Hindi title. The Telugu version could be titled as “Moodu Rascolsu”. Lol! Watch this space for more updates on the film!

Shankar confirmed the cast of the '3 Idiots' Tamil version. Vijay is playing the role of Aamir Khan, Ileana D'Cruz will do the role of Kareena kapoor, Jeeva will do the role of Madhavan, Srikanth will do the role of Sharman Joshy and Sathyraj do the role of Bomman Iranis.

Shankar is planning to have a Tamil title for tax reasons. Harris Jayaraj is scoring music for the flick and Manoj Paramahamsa is cinematographer for the film. Gemini Film Circuit is producing the film.

The shoot will be kick start on December 6th.
