Young Superstar Simbu thanks Ilayathalapathy Vijay (TFC)

The audio launch of Osthi was literally a ‘Katcheri’ as the singers rocked on the podium with the live performances of the songs. The greatest highlight amongst them was the performances by the singers. It was a special surprise for the entire crowd as Ilayathalapathy Vijay graced over the occasion.

Expressing his gratitude for Vijay, Simbu has said, “Osthi audio launch was a huge success. Thanks to all my Fans for making it special and to Ilayathalapathy Vijay Anna for coming down, knowing the fact that I am an AGMARK Thala Ajith Fan. Shows how Stars should be.”
Osthi songs have already become the favorite of the masses with the title song ‘Osthi Maamu’, ‘Pondati’ and ‘Kalaasala’ turning to be the cherry-picks.

Simbu is Osthi Velan (TFC)

It is known that STR aka Simbu is playing a police officer in ‘Osthi’ directed by Dharani, which is a remake of Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’. The name of the character the ‘Young Superstar’ doing in the movie is Velan, who is known as Osthi Velan.
“Though he is a police officer, he has his own set of rules. He is a kind of Robin Hood who is full of energy and enthusiasm,” says Simbu, who has fallen in love with his role. “Yes, it is a complete mass character and a first of its kind role for me,” he says.
On the director, he says, “Dharani has completed the shoot of Osthi in a record time of 90 days, that too without compromising in any fronts. The film is going to be a sure shot.”
Simbu has a regret however. “I don’t know who invented six packs. It takes so much of pain to develop one, but I had no other option than doing it for Osthi. A great lover of biriyani, I had to miss it for months together for the sake of building six packs for the film.”

Silambarasan’s upcoming film Osthi will see an audio launch on October 6. Though the makers have tried to release a single track before the audio launch but it didn’t happened due to some official reasons.

The unit is back in Chennai from Mysore after completing the shoot for about 87 days and post production works are going on full swing. The audio launch will be a grand and glitzy affair and moreover Salman Khan is expected to grace the launch as a special guest. The expectations around Osthi music is high as it carries a hot and sizzling item number featuring Simbu, Sonu Sood and Mallika Sherawat. This song is said to be one of the USPs of the film.

Simbu says “We had intentionally delayed the release of the single track as we are in plans of launching the whole album on October 6th along with the trailer. As of now four songs got wrapped up and Munni song will get ready soon”.

Simbu completes ‘Osthi’ (TFC)

young Superstar Simbu is strictly sticking to punctual style of working. Initially, his projects would go through several hurdles while shooting and often get shelved for no valid reason. But his success graph with ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ has left him to go through a hard-and-fast rule of picking up new-fangled tactics.

The actor is now simultaneously working on more projects. While his ‘Poda Podi’ is on the final leg of post production works, Simbu is now done with the shooting of ‘Osthi’ in Mysore at a single-stretch schedule. Sooner, he will start shooting for ‘Vettai Mannan’ that is directed by close friend Neslon’.
‘Osthi’, a remake of Hindi film ‘Dabangg’ is directed by Dharani with Richa Gangopadhyay starring opposite Simbu in female lead role. Thamman has scored music for the film and single track album will be released shortly.

Richa Gangopadhyay, who was now working with Dhanush for Mayakkan Enna and Simbu for Osthi. Richa Gangopadhyay is very active on the social networking site Twitter and keeps fans updated on happenings in her life. Now she was caught between Dhanush and Simbu fans.

Recently some of Simbu's fans sent her nasty tweets berating her for allegedly promoting Dhanush's film more. Dhanush's fans jumped into the fray and things started to get a little heated.
Richa Gangopadhyay pacified both sets of fans by saying that she has enjoyed working with both stars and does not favor either of them. The actress has also requested the fans not to drag her into their war.

Simbu-Vetrimaran-Cloud Nine Movies soon? (TFC)

Vetrimaran defined his success patently with couple of films that was set in different backdrops. Both ‘Polladhavan’ and ‘Aadukalam’ gained incredible praises from all sections of audiences for his making style and appealing theme. These films indeed had turned spotlights over the Tamil cinema with ‘Aadukalam’ winning more National awards and are screened in international film festivals.

The director has now penned story, screenplay and dialogues for a film that will be directed by his long time associate. Before couple of months, it was announced that Vetrimaran has signed a film for the banner of Cloud Nine Movies that will have Simbu in lead role. However, the producers had kept other projects on hold as they wanted to structure their plans after the release of ‘Mankatha’. With the film earning them good profits, it looks like the film will soon go on floors.

Simbu is devoting himself completely for this Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster film 'Dabangg' which had Salman Khan playing the lead. The Hindi original had a blast at the box-office becoming the biggest entertainer of the year, and Simbu too is giving the Tamil counterpart his all to make 'Osthi' as successful as 'Dabangg' was in Hindi.

Simbu will be Vel Murugan, a cop with oodles of attitude. He will be speaking Tirunelveli dialect in the film. For sporting a sleek physique which the film demands, Simbu is hitting the gym regularly for that sculpted look. Directed by Dharani, the film has a host of other popular stars in prominent roles. Revathi will be seen playing Simbu's mom. Richa Gangopadhyay will play Simbu's love interest; 'Jithan' Ramesh will play Simbu's brother.

Sonu Sood who played baddie in the Hindi original will be clashing with Simbu in the Tamil version too. Music will be composed by Thaman. Simbu has crooned for a song in this film which the actor has claimed will be loved by ladies.

'Dabangg' in Hindi had Salman Khan in the lead with Sonakshi Sinha playing the female lead. This was also Sonakshi Sinha's launch pad as heroine in Bollywood. It is just a matter of time to see if 'Osthi' will repeat the history created by 'Dabangg' in Bollywood!

Dabaang's Tamil Version to go on floors! [First on Net]

STR who is flying high on the success of Vaanam has recently hosted a grand party for the Vaanam crew. The star is all set to start his next project with Director Dharani (of Ghilli fame). The movie is the tamil version of bollywood blockbuster Dabaang. The pooja of the movie is on Monday, 9th May at AVM New Pillayar Kovil.

Dabaang hero Salman's brother and producer of Dabaang Mr. Arbaskhan is gracing the occasion. Several other prominent personalities from both Bollywood and Kollywood are also expected to attend the event. The movie stars STR and Richa Gangopadhyay (Tollywoods Top Heroine who has acted with Venkatesh,Ravi Teja and Raana) in the lead roles. Thaman is scoring music for this movie while Gopinath and Maniraj take care of Cinematography and Art Direction respectively.

This very mix of Crime-Thriller-Comedy itself evokes a huge interest in the film isn’t? With Simbu close on the heels of completing his next film ‘Poda Podi’, the shooting will take off shortly. We hear it from the closer sources that the film is based on crime-thriller in which Simbu plays the role of a top most sharpshooter instantly able to bump off any targets.

When the world’s most happening mafia kingpins arrive for an auction the best assassins, Simbu is hired by a group for a whooping amount that already has a big guy (played by Jai of ‘Subramaniapuram’ fame).

While Jai takes backbreaking effort to accomplish a task, Simbu finishes it with an ease that leads to a clash between them.

What unfolds next is a series of thrill moments that involves more chases laced with commercial elements

Simbu keen on signing Sonam Kapoor [TFC]

 

Following the huge success of ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’, Silambarasan didn’t have any release for nearly more than a year. With still the official release date of his upcoming film ‘Vaanam’ yet to be confirmed, Silambarasan has started working on his next film ‘Vettai Mannan’. The film will mark the debut of Silambarasan in Bollywood as it is simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Since it’s a trilingual project, the makers and actor are keen on signing three actresses each from these respective film industries.

Well, it seems that the actor is keen on signing Sonam Kapoor for one of the female lead roles. It is noteworthy that the producers of ‘Dabangg’ remake are also looking out to sign Sonam Kapoor.

‘Vettai Mannan’ is produced by SS Chakravarthy of Nic Arts and is produced by debutant Nelson with Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring music.
