Director Bala has changed the careers of many actors and put them back on track or on the road to stardom. He did wonders for Vikram with ‘Sethu’ and made a star out of Surya in ‘Nanda’ and cast both of them in the mind-boggling ‘Pithamagan’. It appears that Bala has another winner on hand in his upcoming film ‘Avan Ivan’.
This time around, Bala has chosen Vishal who had only been seen in commercial films, to show the actor’s mettle and what he is made up of. It is rumoured strongly in Kollywood that Vishal’s role in ‘Avan Ivan’ is likely to fetch him many an award and it may not be surprising if he even ends up winning the coveted national award for ‘best actor’ for his role in the film.
Vishal, who would be seen along side Aarya, plays a petty thief in the film and has done something that’s unthinkable for any actor on earth: Vishal appears in ‘squint eyes’ in the entire film, straining his cerebral neves to create and sustain that look, against the advice of his family doctor.
For a particular sequence in the film, Vishal was to utter his dialogues in an inebriated condition (for the film, of course). Insiders reveal that Vishal actually drank some ‘liquor’ and did the sequence, which came out very well and made Bala appreciate Vishal’s professional attitude.
